Abstract:

  Associated Materials LLC, one of the biggest profile extruders in North America, is about to be sold in a $1.3 billion deal.

  The manufacturer of Alside brand windows and siding, Associated Materials LLC, announced Sept. 8 that its current owners have signed a definitive agreement to sell the business to affiliates of private equity firm Hellman & Friedman LLC.

  The deal is scheduled to close in the fourth quarter.

  A Window & Door Top 100 Manufacturer, Associated Materials is one of the biggest manufacturers of North American profile, pipe and tubing extruders, with related sales of $300 million. The company has three manufacturing plants and an estimated 38 extrusion lines.
